Origin of MBA:















  MBA, an acronym for Master of Business Administration, as implied by its name is a master’s degree in business administration that happens to be valued and adopted by all across the globe. The United States can be accredited for its origin in the nineteenth century, in the current date, various MBA courses are opted by the graduates to attain precision and expertise in the fields such as finance, accounting, operations management, marketing, human resources, strategy, organizational behavior, project management etc…
                 The Tuck school of business in the States, working under the Dartmouth College became first institute to offer an advanced degree in sector of commercial sciences, however the Graduate School of Business Administration at Harvard was the first business school to provide a provide a modern MBA to a batch of 80 students. While in the year 1953, IISWBM (the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management) became the first Indian institute to start up MBA program in the country, including the IIMs and XLRI amongst other older institutes. While the finest MBA institutes in India are, apart from IIM Ahmedabad include IBS Hyderabad, IIM Bangalore, FMS at Delhi University, IIM Kolkata, XLRI Jamshedpur, IMT Ghaziabad, IIFT New Delhi etc…

Moreover, it is now being counted as one of the obvious features of the executive professionals. Experts believe that the MBA degree, is now accountedas a recognized brand that elaborates management and leadership training. It brushes one’s skills in finance, communication, marketing, economics, and management.           
            
Types of courses in MBA:


  According to the modern day need of the world this study of business science, has evolved and developed into many forms, types and with many specifications. There can be MBAs of various types like
·        FULL TIME MBA (2-YEAR COURSE):
It usually lasts for two academic years, that is covers a period of approximately 18 months. Students acquire a detailed knowledge of the corporate techniques, trends and methodologies. At many of the renown Universities highly successful business personalities and professionals deliver lectures to the student, endowing the students with their real time knowledge and work experience. Real-life case analysis and studies are a key feature of the MBA course structure.

·        ACCELERATED MBA:
This program is an intensified form of the actual MBA, involves higher course stress and hence severe examinations. Another difference in the pattern is that the students of accelerated MBA do not enjoy a regular 3-4 month holiday like the regular students, rather they only enjoy a summer or winter semester break of 2-3 weeks.

·        PART-TIME MBA:
This course is developed keeping in mind the schedule of the working people, hence normally holds classes in the weekday evenings or in the non-working hours of the professionals, it might also comprise of a weekend program. This course lasts an year longer than the regular MBA program (for a period of 3 years).

·        EXECUTIVE MBA (E-MBA):

Some institutes also take interest in the student’s extra-curricular background for the admission, while some institutes do not observe the GMAT score of the student as a significant parameter for admission. While in the Indian Business School the admission takes place through CAT (Common Aptitude Test) or MAT (Management Aptitude Test), with a specific cut off score.
